March is National Nutrition Month

National Nutrition Month is right around the corner, and as a parent, you of course want your kids to grow up healthy and strong. However, it can be very difficult to keep your kids eating healthy. You always start off with the intention of it being a long term decision, but let’s be real, that never lasts more than a week. Listed below are a few easy snacks to help keep your kids eating healthy.

For a quick midday snack, offer your kids one of these sweeter options:

  • Granola bars
  • Fresh fruit with yogurt
  • Dark chocolate
  • Almond milk and cereal (the healthy kind of course)

If your kids are open to more savory snacks, try one of these veggie options:

  • Carrot or cucumber sticks with light ranch dressing
  • Celery or apple slices with peanut butter
  • Hummus and pretzels
  • Zucchini chips

Vegetables seem to be neglected the most when it comes to a child’s diet. A great way to make vegetables more flavorful is to add lemon! Try to incorporate sautéed broccoli with lemon and garlic onto your kid’s plate and see how they like it!
