Quick & Simple Easter Crafts for Kids

by Emma W.R. on April 3, 2015

Easter is hopping along and on its way. I really like to set aside time to do crafting projects with my little ones. Here are a few simple and quick ways to get in the spirit of the holiday.

  • PEEPS! – My absolute favorite guilty pleasure candy. Try decorating a cake with bunnies all along the border. You can dip them in chocolate or even wrap a chick in bacon and fry them. Make sure to pierce the plastic and let them sit a few days so they get just hard enough on the outside. Yummy!
  • Egg Decorating – You can’t go wrong decorating eggs together. Separate each color into a solo cup and dip away! Get fancy and use stencils to make a fun pattern. A piece of lace and a spray bottle of food dye will work. Break out the paintbrushes and make a cartoon character or a polka dot explosion.
  • Create a Rabbit – Draw a cute rabbit on a piece of paper and glue a cotton ball for its tail. Hang along some string and make an Easter banner to hang.
  • Jelly Bean Basket – Add jelly beans to an ice cream cone and attach a piece of licorice to the cone forming a handle. Edible Easter basket!
  • Rice Crispy Treats Egg – Rice crispy treats can be formed around a plastic egg to be filled with jelly beans or M&Ms inside.
  • Light Eggs – Plain old plastic eggs can be filled with tiny LED lights or glow sticks to take the Easter Egg Hunt into the night.

Have fun and be creative for a delicious holiday filled with treats and enjoyment!

Anything with Peeps is bound to be a hit at Easter time – that’s why I made this with my little ones. They had a blast!

The best thing about peeps is they are not just for Easter anymore! Peeps can be found for almost every holiday throughout the year- Valentine hearts, ghosts and pumpkins, Christmas trees and snowmen. The sugary list goes on. Peep cakes can be made for every holiday and I highly recommend it!

Easter is a definite cheat day for my diet and peeps are my favorite. I love the idea of decorating a cake with them. I used this idea and my kids had so much fun helping out.

Anything with Peeps sounds like a delicious plan to me! Maybe a Funfetti cake decorated with Peeps!

Although I think peeps are one of the grossest things a person can consume, you gotta have them at Easter time. I confess that I made cupcakes decorated with peeps this year and the kids LOVED them.

Peeps always look cute, but I just never liked them. Love the idea of the Easter egg hunt at night!! I want to try that next year – wish I saw this article sooner.

That’s a great idea since Peep’s come in so many colors now. All the crafts are a great way to get the kids involved.

Kids love to do artsy, crafty things, good tips, but when it comes to doing crafts that involves candy, it’s funny seeing the little ones sneaking the candy before you can complete the project.

I love Easter because the decorations are always so cute and adorable. Especially when you have little ones to decorate with. Thanks for the creative ideas!

I like the rice crispy treats formed around a plastic egg that I would fill with M&Ms or tiny chocolate eggs.
