Fun Mother’s Day Crafts for the Kids

by Emma W.R. on May 6, 2014

Although Mothers day is commercialized similarly to Christmas, the best present for a mother will always be something hand made by her children. Jewelry, clothes, and make-up, as nice as they are, will never compare to a thoughtful and unique gift from the ones they love most.

How about taking something simple, such as a ceramic flower pot, and decorating it? You can decorate with markers or write a special message on it. Mommy will proudly display it with her favorite plant either at home or at work. Or how about the kids select a special plant they’d want to give mom along with the pot?

Or perhaps a plain tote bag that can be similarly decorated? Mom can use this when she needs to pick up some things from the market, or when she’s going to the gym. Add some gemstones with some glue for an extra fabulous touch that mom will be sure to love.

How about getting a plain white apron and some paint? The kids can dip their hands in paint and put their hand prints onto the apron. You can use different colors and press their hands all over, for an awesomely colorful gift. Maybe take it a step further by decorating some plain oven mitts as well?

Get creative! There is nothing that moms love more than thoughtful and special gifts from the little ones who give her the honor of having the title “mom”.

My children are all grown up but I still have many of the crafts they made around my home. To me these came from the heart and whenever I look at them they remind me of a simpler time. Can’t wait until I start getting these little gifts from my grand kids.

It’s always a good combination when you can find a craft that the kid actually likes doing and it is something the mom will actually appreciate receiving.
