New Year’s Eve Party Celebration Ideas

by Emma W.R. on December 27, 2016

Another year over, another New Year’s Eve party to be a part of! What better way to ring in the New Year than by throwing a celebration party? Here are some really fun New Year’s Eve Party celebration ideas.

Dance Party

Dancing the old year away and welcoming the New Year is fun and exhilarating. Make sure you preselect your playlists and invite friends over to dance the night away. Even better if it’s a potluck event. Encourage people to dress up and be fancy! This is your moment to ring in the New Year in style surrounded by all of your friends.

Relaxing Night In

If you’ve had your fair share of dance parties throughout the years, perhaps you’re looking forward to a relaxing way to ring in the New Year. How about inviting friends over for a fondue party? You can watch your favorite movies all night long or play games. I love baking for the New Year; how about having a cooking/baking party at home?

Out with the old, In with the new

Celebrate the year’s end by having a party that focuses around getting rid of bad memories/negativity from the year. Print out pictures of different great and bad moments of the past year and put up the great moments for everyone to see. Anything that was negative, put in a box or bin to be removed. Invite guests to be a part of it by bringing in something they’d like to get rid of. It could be a picture of an ex or old clothing. Invite everyone to talk about what they are most looking forward to in 2016. This is a great way to start the year fresh.

Does staying home watching the ball drop from your couch count???

I really enjoy those end-of-year retrospectives they air in the evenings before the ball drop. And being warm indoors. I enjoy that as well.

The new Star Wars movie is set to be released this December, so my family and I will spend New Years Eve at the movies.

Love the ideas! If my friends and I did the last idea, we’d totally burn the old stuff. Cathartic justice!

I think a quiet evening spent watching the ball drop is enjoyable.

I go to the movies for NYE. We take a big group then hit up a diner afterwards. Has been our tradition the last six years.

There used to be a time where I was invited to so many parties I couldn’t choose. Now with my friends so settled down and busy, we are lucky if there is even one party to go to haha

My birthday is on New Year’s Eve so it is double the celebration for me. I have a huge party every year with friends, family and anyone else they want to bring with them.

We’ve gone out the past couple of years and actually have a wedding next New Years eve… I’m looking forward to staying home the year after that!

At my age, staying awake until midnight when the ball drops is a major accomplishment. Not into any of the ‘special’ programming because I don’t recognize any of the performers and I’m getting tired of seeing Donnie Wahlberg attack Jenny McCarthy on a yearly basis on national television.

Oh gosh, me too! Can’t stand those two, but luckily can’t stay up late enough to witness it.

The last few years I have opted to stay in and just watch those awful specials on TV. I’d rather go out on a night that isn’t too crazy.

I always hope the year is going to start off great, but it never seems to happen that way. Not into resolutions or anything like that.

We let the kids have a big slumber party. It was fun.

Relaxing night for me! I don’t like going out anymore.

Been decades since I went to a dance party! I am too old now to stay out like that, but had lots of fun back in my time.

I take my wife out for a nice, big dinner then after midnight we go straight home to bed. No more staying out all night.

I am more into the relaxing night in. There are some New Years Eves that I don’t even make it until 12:00.
