Payback Time – Fun April Fool Pranks to Play on Your Kids

by Emma W.R. on March 30, 2016

Kids will be kids.  Isn’t that what they say?  My kids are always trying to pull some prank on me.  They know I’m a good sports, but after a while, enough is enough.  This year, I decided to switch the tables around.  It was my turn to prank the pranksters.

I started first thing in the morning, I put a couple drops of food coloring in the bottom of their cereal bowl, poured their Cheerios and brought it to the table.  When they added the milk, they flipped out.  Why was the milk and cereal changing blue?  April Fools!

Now on to step two.  While the kids were getting dressed and brushing their teeth, I packed their lunches.  I took all the Dorito’s out of the snack packages and replaced them with carrots then resealed the package.  I added googly eyes on to their oranges so when they opened up their lunchboxes, two eyes were staring back at them.  Bam!  April Fools!

While the kids were at school, I started preparing for their return.  First, I took the batteries out of all the remote.  (I will tell them our cable has been disconnected.)  Next, I put clear tape over the sprayer on the kitchen sink.  (When they turn the water on to wash up, they will be sprayed.)  Lastly, I made their beds upside down.  (They will be unable to climb into bed the regular way.)

They will have no choice but to consider me the master prankster by the end of the day.  This is your chance for payback.  Have fun with it!

harmless pranks – my kind of fun! I don’t like going too overboard and really scaring people!

Great ideas! It’s always great to show your kids that you have a sense of humor as well and can have some fun.

Love this. Turning the tables on our children is a noble endeavor.

Oh wow this is hilarious! One idea is better than the next lol! I’m going to do some of these but they are so good I’m gonna have to prepare for retaliation on their end!

Those are some fun, harmless pranks. I can’t imagine your kids will like you for a while if you successfully pull those off! I usually go for the classic can of worms prank, with the springy worm thing that pops out of the can once you twist it open. Act like it’s peanut butter or something. Usually catches at least one victim by surprise.
