Photo Ideas for a Family Christmas Photo

by Emma W.R. on December 8, 2015

My family and I love to come up with witty and imaginative Christmas family photos each year. We usually throw around ideas throughout the year and vote on which one it’s going to be. Here are a few concepts we have come across that we would like to try.

1

Traditional – We dress alike down to the pets and sit in front of the Christmas tree. It’s cheesy but brings a sort of Brady Bunch feel.

2

Modern – Make people giggle with a nod to the digital world we actually live in. Even scramble Merry Christmas into shortcut text to add some fun.

3

Creative – A movie spoof is a great way to bring the family together. Come up with one of your favorite Christmas flicks or just your favorite movie.

4

Funny – Isn’t it ironic…don’t you think. I also love the screaming children on Santa’s lap.

5

Sweet – Maybe you just got married and haven’t started a family. This gives you an opportunity to ham it up and make people say aww.

6

Then/Now – Re-creation photos are always an amusing way to show how much the kids have grown. This one takes a bit of planning but will be a treasured memory.

7

Creepy – Now this is a little weird. Whatever makes you happy though. If your cat is your family then go for it.

I like the pajamas one, it shows the fun family side. The cat one is too funny, sounds like something I might do… 🙂
